We presented our first batch of Kindergarten Timelines today! I just love seeing all of their adorable little baby faces in every picture. The students are so proud to show off their notable milestones. Here are two beauties showing off their timelines. :)
Everything Kindergarten. This blog takes you through the day to day experiences we have in my Kindergarten classroom. Come along with us as we chase the rainbows in K!

Constitution Day
We talked a little bit about Constitution Day in Kindergarten yesterday. We read a book about the Pledge of Allegiance and talked a lot about what the words mean. We also made these adorable Uncle Sam hats.

Star Spangled Banner
This morning Riverview celebrated the 200th birthday of "The Star Spangled Banner". The Big Rapids High School Choir and Band joined us in the celebration. It was a wonderful event and I was VERY proud of our Kindergarteners because they showed a lot of respect and they really did a nice job honoring our country.
Our very own Jude was a wonderful flag bearer during the event as well. Look at how nice of a job he is doing! Go Jude!

First Day in the Books
We made it through our first morning, and I have to say it went extremely smooth. It will take us a few weeks to get into the routine and grasp rules and procedures but I really think it's going to be a super year. I appreciate you're patience as I catch my balance as well while getting to know your kids, getting the year organized and getting our schedule down pat. I have had some of you offer to volunteer in our classroom once a week and for that I am EXTREMELY grateful.
Cheers to a new school year, it's going to be a great one!

Ready or Not....
Here we go!! It's the night before the first day of Kindergarten! I am full of emotions; nervous, excited, anxious, elated, overwhelmed, but most of all I am full of gratitude. I am so grateful that I have this job, the best job in the world. I am so grateful to be teaching and shaping and impacting little people, sweet (I hope), naive, impressionable, curious, little people. I am so grateful that so many parents have trusted me with their worlds and allowed me the opportunity to create memories, teach lessons, reach for goals, and be the best we can be together in Kindergarten! THANK YOU!!!!
Finally, from a mom (who will have a Kindergartener in 3 years) to all of my moms.... YOU DID IT!!!! Embrace tomorrow, be proud of the children you are sending off to Kindergarten and be excited about this year, the year you'll see them grow the most.
